TV WISE – After previously releasing a brief teaser, BBC One has now launched the full trailer for Line Of Duty creator Jed Mercurio’s new thriller series Bodyguard.

Set to premiere later this year, Bodyguard is set in and around the corridors of power and tells the story of David Budd (Madden), a heroic but volatile war veteran now working as a Specialist Protection Officer for the Royalty and Specialist Protection Branch (RaSP) of London’s Metropolitan Police Service. When he is assigned to protect the ambitious and powerful Home Secretary Julia Montague (Hawes), Budd finds himself torn between his duty and his beliefs. Responsible for her safety, could he become her biggest threat?

The six episode series, which was originally commissioned back in August 2016, was created and penned by Mercurio and is being produced for BBC One by Line Of Duty indie World Productions. In addition to Richard Madden and Keeley Hawes, the cast also includes: Gina McKee, Sophie Rundle, Vincent Franklin, Stuart Bowman, Nina Toussaint-White, Pippa Haywood and Stephanie Hyam. The directors are Thomas Vincent and John Strickland. The executive producers are Jed Mercurio and Simon Heath for World Productions and Elizabeth Kilgarriff for BBC One.

Reuniting the stars of his celebrated film Cinderella, Kenneth Branagh and Rob Ashford direct Richard Madden (“Game of Thrones,” Cinderella) as Romeo and Lily James (“Downton Abbey,” Cinderella) as Juliet, alongside Derek Jacobi as Mercutio, and Meera Syal as The Nurse, in a modern, passionate version of the classic tragedy.

We have a fun clip produced by the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company that features group of teenagers retelling the romantic story of Romeo and Juliet in their own words.
