Channel 4’s enormously enjoyable comedy/drama series Sirens is coming to DVD on March 12th courtesy of Universal Playback.
Currently in the middle of a repeat run on E4, the six-part Leeds set show by Brian Fillis (The Curse of Steptoe, An Englishman in New York) is inspired by real life ambulance technician Tom Reynolds’ novel – Blood, Sweat and Tea – and centres around three world-weary paramedics as they deal with late night revelers, attend a major road traffic collision, have their male pride rattled by the local fire brigade and are confronted with a life and death situation which hits closer to home than expected.
Starring Rhys Thomas (Beyond The Pole, Bellamy’s People), Richard Madden (Birdsong, Game of Thrones) and Kayvan Novak (Four Lions, Facejacker) as our bickering EMT paramedics Stuart, Ashley and Rachid and Amy Beth Hayes (Shameless, Secret Diary of a Call Girl) as Stuart’s acid-tongued best friend Maxine, a police sergeant who’s unlucky in love.
Details of the Complete Series Box Set have been released and it’s packed with juicy bonus materials including behind the scenes footage, bloopers and exclusive scenes. For a peek at the show check out the trailer below.
