Richard today was in Spain promoting Cinderella. He attended a photocall in Madrid (at Puerta Alcala) together with Kenneth Branagh. Several photos from the event have now been added to the gallery (also thanks to Claudia for her help). Enjoy!

MOVIEMANIACSDE – See the full press conference for Cinderella from the international premiere in Berlin. With David Barron (producer), Helena Bonham Carter, Richard Madden, Lily James, Kenneth Branagh (director), Cate Blanchett, Stellan Skarsgård, Allison Shearmur (producer) and Sandy Powell (costumes).

LINDALEE ROSE – Lindalee discovers that Richard Madden’s girlfriend is none other than Jenna Coleman from TV’s Doctor Who, while conducting interviews at the Cinderella World Premiere in Hollywood.

VOLTURE – If you thought Cinderella’s tiny glass slippers were hard to fill, try walking a mile in Prince Charming’s polished shoes. It’s not easy to play a character that’s practically the Ur-prince of all fairy tales — handsome, chivalrous, and the personified projection of romantic longing — but in Kenneth Branagh’s new live-action adaptation of Cinderella, Richard Madden proves himself up to the task. We got the Game of Thrones alum on the phone to discuss how he pulled off all of his princely dancing scenes, how he feels about the HBO series now that he’s been killed off, and why he’s so obsessed with Doctor Who.

You often take on projects like Game of Thrones and Klondike that put you through some arduous paces. Does something like Cinderella, then, feel like a vacation?
You know, I got this job while I was shooting Klondike, and I said, “This is great. I’m not going to be covered in blood or mud, or carrying things for hours!” But actually, it was just as hard as both of them, just in a very different way. I had to work on it for months to get the dance choreography down, and I was doing a lot of scenes on horseback. You think something’s going to be easy, and it never is — you end up putting the same amount of effort and time into it.

COLLIDER VIDEOS – Prince Charming. In name alone, those are some big shoes to fill, but in Kenneth Branagh’s beautiful live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic Cinderella, Richard Madden does just that. Madden’s Prince is honorable, brave, never foppish, and indeed, quite charming. Cinderella also stars Lily James, Cate Blanchett, Richard Madden, Helena Bonham Carter, Stellan Skarsgard, Nonso Anozie, Holliday Grainger , Sophie McShera and Hayley Atwell, and opens in theaters March 13th.

At a recent Los Angeles press day, I sat down with Richard Madden for an exclusive video interview. We talked about why he wanted to take on the role of Prince Charming, the technical challenges of filming the grand ball, being immersed in the fairy tale environment, the film’s wonderful costume work by Sandy Powell, how Game of Thrones fans react when they see him on the street, and re-teaming with Branagh and James for a West End production of Romeo and Juliet in 2016. Please be aware there are major Game of Thrones spoilers. (source)

With big big thanks to Emily, I’ve been able to add in the gallery digital HQ scans of the People Magazine issue (March 03) which features Lily and Richard. You can find them in our gallery, enjoy!
