Richard Madden might be transitioning from playing the King of the North, Robb Stark, on “Game of Thrones” to playing Prince Charming in Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming live action “Cinderella” movie. That should make his onscreen “Game of Thrones” wife, Oona Chaplin, very happy indeed.
Film is reporting that Madden is one of the names Branagh is considering for the Prince Charming role. Cate Blanchett has been signed on to play Cinderella’s wicked stepmother in the live action Disney movie for over a year.
It’s the role of Cinderella that’s proved tricky for Branagh and Disney to cast. Initially Emma Watson had been offered the part, but when she declined it seems like Branagh decided to look at actresses who were less well-known. Bella Heathcote, Lily James and Margot Robbie are reportedly testing for the role this week, with the expectation that the part of Cinderella will go to one of them.
When Zap2it spoke to Chaplin on the “Game of Thrones” Season 3 premiere red carpet, she confirmed that Madden is in fact as dreamy in real life as he is in the hit HBO show. “I’m semi in love with him,” she admitted. “I think he already knows. It’s quite embarrassing. He’s like, ‘Get off me, woman.'”
